Career Summary:

Coach Shearmire graduated from Archer City High School in 1982. He was 3rd overall in his class rank and was selected Mr. ACHS his Senior year. He was a two time All-State first team basketball player as well as making the All-State Tournament team in 1981. He also lead the state of Texas in scoring in 1981-82 with a 37 point per game average. He was selected as a basketball All-American in 1982.

Coach Shearmire continued playing basketball in college from 83-86 at Abilene Christian University, where he also stayed and coached until 1991. He then moved on as an assistant coach at the University of North Texas for a season with the women's program before returning to coach high school boys. He had stints at Sanger for two seasons, the 1 year at Ingram Tom Moore, 3 years at Coppell as an assistant, then 13 years as head coach at Grapevine HS, followed by 10 seasons as the girls coach at Weatherford HS. This season will be his third year to lead the Bridgeport Sissies basketball program. 


Coach Shearmire has been married for 35 years to his wife Judith and they have two daughters, Abbye 27, and Camri, 24, as well as two 3 year old corgis, Teddy and Pepper. Coach Shearmire also assists with track and teaches geometry at Bridgeport High School.
