Career Summary:

Coach Chad Perry was a pole vaulter and running back at Van High School. He ran track at The University of Texas and his personal best of 17-feet 6.50 inches still ranks among the Top 13 best marks in UT history.


Coach Perry has had multiple coaching stints in the high school and college ranks. He also was a member of the sprints and hurdle development staff at the USA Track and Field High Performance in Indianapolis.


Perry coached 4 years at Portland State as an assistant. He was responsible for coaching the decathlon, pole vault, and throwing events. Perry coached six athletes to All-Big Sky Conference honors, two junior USA Track and Field All-Americans, two National Strength and Conditioning All-Americans, and six NCAA Western Regional qualifiers. Perry was on staff that saw members of its women’s team break 35 school records.


Perry was the head track coach at CSU-Pueblo for six seasons. During his time, he had multiple athletes qualify provisionally for the national championships. In addition, he coached All-Americans in the triple, long jump, and cross country. Regularly, his athletes rewrote the CSU-Pueblo school record books in multiple events.


This is Coach Perry's second year in Bridgeport ISD. He also assists with football and basketball and teaches Outdoor Adventures at BMS.
